Elston Gunn's WEEKLY RECAP

Well another week has past and Father Geek is here with yet another WEEKLY RECAP from Elston Gunn. Alot of cool news this week, a couple of bits that caught ol Father Geek's attention were Christopher McQuarrie being attached to ALEXANDER THE GREAT and John Boorman's THE PROFESSOR AND THE MADMAN. As a kid I loved the old Richard Burton "Alexander", so I can't wait to see an updated version, especially in light of the way GLADIATOR turned out. As for Boorman's flick I feel the subjects made to order for directing style, so I'm on pins and needles till it comes out.

* Paramount Pictures/Nickelodeon Movies/Klasky-Csupo are developing a third RUGRATS picture. This time around, the Rugrats will meet up with characters from "The Wild Thornberrys," another popular Nickelodeon show. A separate THORNBERRYS pic is also in the works.

There's always some surprising news to me each week. This week it was Myers bowing out of CONFESSIONS, a "Malcolm in the Middle" flick, the cast of JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK, Kirsten Dunst playing Mary Jane (didn't know she was in the running) and Christopher McQuarrie finally getting the opportunity to direct his project about Alexander the Great. THE PROFESSOR AND THE MADMAN sounds like a great project. Hope John Boorman will do great things with it. And I'm very glad to see Zhang Ziyi getting a big role in RUSH HOUR 2. Should be fun.

Until next week...
