“24 Legacy” makes do without Jack Bauer and Chloe O’Brien, but it’s set in the same universe as “24.” The Bauer surrogate isn’t employed by CTU (yet) but at times he carries the same kind of JackSack. The first episode references a former CTU operative familiar to fans of the original series (not Soul Patch Tony Almeida, who will appear sometime after the first four episodes).
The recap packages don’t say “Previously, on ‘24: Legacy’”; they say “Previously, on ‘24.’”
New lead Corey Hawkins is no Kiefer Sutherland.
There’s a sexy high school girl helping to carry out a terrorist plot, but she’s no Naked Mandy.
Four episodes in, “Legacy” feels like it could turn out to be the worst season of “24.” I did find it compelling enough to watch the first four episodes, but I have to say I’m not terribly excited about the prospect of watching episode five.

Hardly anyone gave a shit about last Sunday’s “Conviction” finale. They should resurrect Peggy Carter with some supersoldier serum and stick Hayley Atwell on “The Inhumans” this fall.
