The Tom Cruise MUMMY movie gets a poster and one of those mini-trailer things!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Universal's going all-in on their shared Universe monster movies and seeing Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe in the tiny trailer preview clip thing actually kinda got me excited to see where they're going with this thing.

I mean, the glimpse of the footage itself is kind of typical big budget action stuff, but Tom Cruise fighting an undead Egyptian mummy and Russell Crowe popping up as Jekyl/Hyde kinda rings my bells. The fact that they're going to hard out on this, casting this universe with super famous stars, is terribly interesting to me.

Here's the poster for The Mummy, which uses the most Tom Cruise-y font for his billing ever, by the way:

And now we have the teaser for the teaser trailer. I hate these things and don't often post them (I thought the trailer was supposed to be the tease?), but what the hell? The poster came out and here's a taste of what to expect this thing to look like.

I wonder if the creative team behind The Mummy was watching The Exorcist TV show and went "ah, damn it!" when they did that double-iris thing?

Anyway, there we go. The official official kick-off of the Universal Monster Shared Universe (we'll call Dracula Untold a warm up) has begun in earnest! Thoughts?
