‘We’re Moving Back To Gotham!!’ Hercules Has Seen Tonight's First New CW SUPERGIRL!!

I am – Hercules!!

Supergirl 2.1 FAQ

What’s it called?
“The Adventures Of Supergirl.”

Who’s responsible?
Teleplay is credited to Jessica Queller (“Gossip Girl”).

What says FX?
“When a new threat emerges in National City, Kara / Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) teams up with her cousin, Clark Kent / Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), to stop it. Kara is thrilled to have family in town but it leaves Alex feeling a bit left out. Meanwhile, Hank and Supergirl are stunned by the pod that came crashing to Earth.”

How does it start?
Virtually the entire cast, including Helen Slater, toasts Supergirl. Then a Kryptonian pod identical to Supergirl’s crashes into (a parking lot? a rooftop?) in National City.

So is Mon-El unconscious?
Yes. And he remains so throughout the episode.

What is the “new threat”?
Foul play may have precipitated a spacecraft malfunction, and a fellow named John Corben seems to be involved.

Is Lucy Lane still running the DEO?
Lucy is gone. J’onn is back in charge, but everybody’s now operating out of a heretofore unseen DEO facility situated atop a skyscraper instead of inside a cave.

Is Supergirl fucking Jimmy Olsen?
“James and I are going on our first date!”

What’s doing with Cat Grant?
She’s helping Kara trying to figure out what her next job at CatCo will be. (Cat’s new assistant is named Ms. Tessmacher.)

What’s doing with Quinlan?
He heads out of the Safe Zone to help Eph and Dutch retrieve a box from JFK. Wait, what?

The big news?
We learn Superman used to work with J’onn and the DEO as Supergirl does now. Reference is made to Lex Luthor serving 32 consecutive life sentences for setting off an Earthquake in California. We learn tonight whether Lois and Clark are married. Superman doesn’t seem happy about hanging around with J’onn J’onzz, Manhunter From Mars.

What else is The CW not telling us?
The CW version of Barry Allen now appears in the opening montage. In the opening narration, The Flash and the Martian Manhunter are identified as “allies.”

What’s good?
The mystery of the Clark-J’onn tension. The 200-seat spacecraft suggests Supergirl’s universe is cooler than ours. “I used to change his diapers.” “We’re moving back to Gotham.”

What’s not so good?
Kara’s idiotic interest in remaining at Catco. The inexplicable Olsen-Danvers relationship transition. If it takes two Kryptonians to crash land a spaceship, what are we going to do if a planet threatens to collide with Earth? And Winn.

How does it end, spoiler boy?
“Long live Metallo.”

8 p.m. Monday. The CW.
