Some Joker is gonna play Andy Warhol - HA HA HA - Who wants soup?

Hey folks, Harry here...  Andy Warhol is usually a character that is an ambient character for any and all artsy fartsy sequences set in a wide variety of films.   Andy played himself of course, but there's been about 40+ movies that had the famed Soup Can artist appear.  My personal favorite Andy Warhol on film was played by David Bowie in the magnificent BASQUIAT twenty years ago.  I also dug Crispin Glover as Warhol in Oliver Stone's THE DOORS!  Hell I even loved Bill Hader in MEN IN BLACK III, but it seems there's movement on a full on Andy Warhol biopic.

Seems that Michael Di Luca is producing with Jared Leto, who will play Warhol from a script being written by the screenwriter of THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, Terence Winter.   There's no director attached as of yet, but the film does have a title...   simply...  WARHOL.

Andy's life was about as whackadoodle as one could ever imagine.   Pushing the boundaries into the acceptable and for that alone he should be heralded. I'd love to see them dive into his film world, THE FACTORY and just all the weird that was & still is Andy Warhol.  Jared Leto definitely has the right spacey vibe to pull this off.   I just want a director that pushes this film as crazy as it ought to go.   A film shouldn't go too deep on Warhol, as he famously said, "If you want to know all about Andy Warhol, just look at the surface of my paintings and films and me, and there I am. There's nothing behind it."

Keep it cool,

Harry
