Annette Kellerman's aGLIFF Reminder!

Hey Austin locals- just a quick reminder that the 29th aGLIFF (Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival) is happening this weekend September 8-11 at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar location. For those who don't know, aGLIFF has been providing awareness and entertainment through their festival since 1987 in addition to running year-round community projects as a non-profit organization.

This year's lineup is comprised of over 30 feature films and 47 short films including cosplay coming of age flick SLASH in the Narrative Feature category, as well as BRIGHT SHADOW, a Documentary Feature that chronicles the personal and professional ups and downs of acclaimed folk musician Ana Egge with the artist herself attending the Sunday night screening.

Aside from new releases, aGLIFF will also be screening Marquee and Anniversary films that include John Cameron Mitchell's SHORTBUS and HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH along with documentary POLITICAL ANIMALS, an inspiring look at four politicians and their decades-long fight for LGBTQ rights. POLITICAL ANIMALS won the Audience and Grand Jury awards at this year's Los Angeles Film Festival, and former California legislator Carole Migden will be joining the filmmakers for this special screening.

Badge information can be found at agliff.org/festival and individual tickets can be purchased through drafthouse.com.
