Nathan Drake's Cinematic Adventure Delayed Once Again!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I stand by my assertion that sooner or later video game movies are going to be a huge thing. The worlds and characters being developed (and consumed in huge quantities by Hollywood's favorite demographic) are too rich to ignore and in most cases they have a built in world-wide fanbase. If Duncan Jones' Warcraft had been received as well in the US as it was all over the world I think that would have been the precedent setter.

Among the other candidates for "film that will kick off this new trend" Assassin's Creed stands a good chance at showing how you can adapt a video game into this more passive medium and so does whatever Uncharted movie they end up making (it is, afterall, a modern Indiana Jones)... if it ever happens.

Deadline reported that Uncharted has not only been pushed once again (this iteration was originally supposed to his screens this summer before being pushed back to next summer), but it has been taken off their schedule entirely.

This is usually not good news, but since they've been developing this for years and years and years I woudln't count this out quite yet. The studio has wanted Joe Carnahan to direct for a while, but he's focused on Bad Boys For Life right now and is only helping script. I'd be betting Sony's decided not to rush this film out there and are waiting for Carnahan to direct this one after Bad Boys 3, but that's just me reading between the lines. I have no insider info on this one, but that's what it's looking like to me.

Thoughts?
