The “Star Trek: Discovery” uniforms just tweeted Friday by showrunner Bryan Fuller look more like those worn by Christopher Pike and science officer Spock in “The Cage,” which makes sense since “The Cage” takes place around the time of “Star Trek Discovery.”
The “Cage” design was repurposed for the second pilot, “Where No Man Has Gone Before,” another installment set before Leonard McCoy, Janice Rand and Nyota Uhura joined the crew.
Note there’s no black collar like the ones we saw in the 1960s series and in the 21st century movies produced by J.J. Abrams.
