Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We already know Robert Downey Jr. is going to play a major part in the Marvel Studios/Sony co-production of Spider-Man: Homecoming. He'll cement the studio cross-over in a way we haven't really seen since the olden days of contract players and now we hear he won't be alone.
Variety says Tony Stark will be joined by his trusted right hand man, Happy Hogan, while playing in Spidey's sandbox.
This is even better news for a project that I already have radically unrealistic expectations for. Jon Favreau casting himself as Happy Hogan was one of the smartest things that dude has done. Even though he's stepped back from directing Marvel films he can still drop in from time to time and have some fun while focusing on other projects.
Plus Favreau and Downey are just great together on-screen. Happy's one of the only characters that can serve snark back at Tony as quickly as he dishes it out.
So, even more good news about this project! Yay, Spider-Man!
