Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Today's big comic book news comes in two parts, one pretty official and one juicy rumor per Umberto Gonzalez in his new role as Ace Scooper for The Wrap.
The official part is actual video Ben Affleck shared from a monitor on the set of Justice League, which stands as an official announcement that Deathstroke is in fact entering the DCEU. It's a pretty unexpected way to reveal this nugget of information, but pretty cool:

The rumor part comes from Gonzalez who has a source that says this reveal is only the beginning of the character in the DCEU and that he'll play a major role in Affleck's standalone Batman movie, possibly the main villain.
In the books, Deathstroke is a prime assassin with a hell of a tragic backstory. Look up the story on how he lost his right eye. It's pretty brutal. He had the label of being The Terminator years before Arnold Schwarzenegger did (to avoid confusion he's mostly known as Deathstroke these days, not Deathstroke The Terminator).
Depending on how much time is given to his backstory in the DCEU, Deathstroke could be one of the more interesting characters being played with right now. If they just make him a cool and deadly assassin they'll miss the point, but I have a feeling if Gonzalez's sources are correct we'll be getting a pretty good look at what makes this character tick over the next few DCEU movies.
Thoughts?
