Narnia heading back to the big screen with Tristar picking up THE SILVER CHAIR!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I was always more of a Tolkien kid than a Lewis kid. I think even then I was uncomfortable with the overt Christian propaganda in the Narnia books. Looking back now, I think it's pretty harmless, but young me was a lot more concerned that my religious friends were being duped by their churches. I'm now way more of a "do your own thing" kinda guy and don't really think a Jesus Lion is all that concerning, but still not in love with this series.

I'm curious if there's a generation who grew up with the Narnia movies and really feels strongly about them. I'm sure there must be, but much like the books, the films didn't make much of an impact on me. Remember they were coming out in the wake of the success of Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and kind of felt Fantasy-lite by comparison.

But if you do dig the films and Lewis' books, then get excited because Tristar is picking up the series where Disney left off. Per Deadline, they're starting with The Silver Chair set a generation or two after the events of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. King Caspian's son, Prince Rilian, has disappeared and Aslan once again sends some British kids to Narnia to make things right.

Finding Neverland's David Magee is writing the adaptation. No word on director just yet, but even though this series isn't really my jam I think it's pretty cool of them to not just go the reboot route with the more famously named first book. Maybe they'll end up getting all of Lewis' Narnia books adapted for the big screen!
