Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. AICN migrated servers yesterday and that messed up our photo uploading capabilities for a day, so you were denied Sunday's BTS column. Sorry, but the internet gods demanded a sacrifice and apparently that sacrifice was a cool photo of Michael Keaton turning into Beetlejuice in the makeup chair.
It may be a day late, but by God it's here! Beetlejuice is one of my favorite movies from Tim Burton. It has everything you love about his visual style, but does a huge amount of character and world building without getting lost in it. I love that he doesn't bend over backwards trying to get you to fully understand the world. It's just there and you buy it or you don't.
Keaton is outstanding, as usual, as the ghost with the most and it's still one of my all-time favorite performances of his. Check out this image of him becoming the title character:
