Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We don't hold a lot of giveaways here, but when something really cool comes up I like to give you folks a shot at it.
Matt Taylor wrote a book a few years back that I loved loved loved. It's one of the most thorough Making Of books ever and it was about my favorite movie! Jaws: Memories From Martha's Vineyard was fantastic (if you haven't picked it up I can't recommend it enough).
His new book shifts away from movies and into music as he goes in-depth on the making of Metallica's Master of Puppets album and tour. It's called METALLICA: BACK TO THE FRONT and it comes out next month, September 13th to be exact.
That up above is the regular edition, which you can pre-order anywhere books are sold (Amazon has it for $31.39), but that's not what I'm giving away here.
Much like their Jaws book, Moonrise Media is releasing a limited Delux Collector's Edition, which comes in a hardcover printing with a clamshell case and features a little piece of Metallica history. With Jaws the Deluxe Edition had a piece of the sinking Orca built and left on Martha's Vineyard. Here you get a piece from one of the road cases used to ship Metallica's instruments for the Master of Puppets tour.
The display for the road case piece is pretty neat, with embossed signatures of the band printed on it, too. If you order it you'll get the super nice version of the book with the little bit of history and you'll also receive the book 2 weeks before street date. This version runs $250 and can only be ordered through Moonrise Media's website.
