Folks, Harry here. I hate the 20th Century Fox produced domestic trailer for CAST AWAY! I hate it, because it is one of those lazy mini-movies, where in 3 minutes or less they give away every key plot point... IN ORDER... That crappy trailer is less of a trailer and more of a CASTLE 8mm Mini-Movie like you used to be able to order out of the back of FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND!
The party responsible? 20th Century Fox! Their trailer almost made me not want to see the movie I was so angry... and I have been the leading CAST AWAY pre-fan in the world... Declaring the script genius, the director a favorite... and Hanks born to play the character... And here I was not wanting to see the film because FOX cut one of the worst damn trailers I've seen in a dog's age.
Now... DREAMWORKS SKG comes along with the International Trailer... which thanks to the internet and the French Premiere website, we can pay witness to the glory of true great trailer making. Catch this international trailer. THIS IS HOW TO SELL THE MOVIE!!! As a transforming experience! As life changing! I highly recommend this trailer... especially if you download the crystal clear large format version of it. Is it just that Dreamworks is that much better at selling a movie, or is it that they feel you can sell an intelligent film internationally... but you can't domestically? CHECK IT OUT!!!
