On my recent trip to Los Angeles I had the chance to talk to AICN Disney Spy Du Jour, Sir Etch A Sketch... who told me that SWEATING BULLETS is currently the Disney animated project that he is most disappointed in the development of. Apparently it is so completely PC and non-offensive that it borders on being offensively bland. Of course this is just in the storyboard and story reel phase... the film will be in production for quite some time to come, but today there is some good news for the project... Hollywood Reporter and ol Zorianna Kit, tell all of us the following:
Academy Award winners Cuba Gooding Jr. and Judi Dench will lend their voices to the Walt Disney Co.'s animated Western musical feature "Sweating Bullets" for directors Will Finn ("The Road to El Dorado") and John Sanford. Sarah Jessica Parker and Ja'Net DuBois will also provide voices for the project, about a group of cows that band together to save their farm. Randy Quaid is in talks to join the cast. The project has been in development for several years but has not started production.
Judi Dench and Cuba Gooding Jr are quite an interesting pair for an this project... And just as a fun little aside... in the current PEOPLE magazine, Cuba Gooding Jr says that Aint It Cool News is his favorite website... So, Cuba... Kick some animated ass with this one!!! Now... will Cuba be the lead Steer? Cause I know Cuba ain't gonna be no Cow. And if Cuba is playing a Steer and he and the other cows are out to 'save the farm' does that mean the farmers are vegetarians and that their cattle are merely for decoration and not for consumption? Hmmmm.... Hopefully Sir Etch-A-Sketch or MooCow will clarify and give us the skinny on this hefer....
