The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day: They're all gonna laugh at this image from the making of CARRIE!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today's BTS column. As you may remember, I'm dedicating this week to the influences of the fantastic Netflix show STRANGER THINGS. One of my favorite characters on the show is Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven (or Elle, for short), a mysterious young girl who possesses some pretty interesting powers.

Telekenisis isn't unique to Stephen King's fiction, but boy did Brown's character feel a little bit like an amalgam of two characters from early King books: Carrie White and Charlie McGee (aka Firestarter).

So, I've got two photos for you today. One is a legit BTS shot and the other is one of my favorite pictures of Stephen King, taken at the premiere of Firestarter.

But let's start with a rather iconic moment from Brian De Palma's Carrie, the film that King himself credits for launching his stardom. The book was successful, but the movie pushed him over the top and when he followed Carrie up with Salem's Lot and The Shining that's all it took to make Stephen King synonymous with horror.

Enjoy the Carrie image, taken during the prom sequence, and meet me after for your bonus pic!

Now, the next pic, which features King and young Drew Barrymore at the premiere of Firestarter, I believe. Appropriately, she's wielding some fire to light Uncle Stevie's cigarette. You couldn't get away with this today, but hey... it was the early '80s. Everybody smoked everywhere.

I adore this picture. Check it out:

Tomorrow's pic hates nature. See ya' for that one!
