Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. EW has been busy lately. That latest bit of geeky reveals from them comes in the form of two rather cool concept art pieces from the currently in the works Blade Runner 2, directed by Dennis Villeneuve.
The director confirms Ford's return as Deckard and that the film will take place several decades after the original, which was set in 2019 Los Angeles. LA is still the prime location and the article states that the world has gotten even more messed up. Climate is going crazy, hammering the west coast with snow and rain. Even the ocean is pounding away at it and all of it is toxic.
The timing of this release is perfect for me since I just rewatched the original (Final Cut) at the local movie palace on a double bill with John Carpenter's The Thing.
Check out the pieces below. The first one shows a vehicle whose job it is to hover over the streets and destroy the toxic snow.
Lookin' good so far!
