The Logan's Run reboot gets renewed!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Deadline reports that the long gestating Logan's Run reboot. This is the reboot that refuses to die, apparently. Everybody from Bryan Singer to Joseph Kosinski and Alex Garland have been involved over the last decade and for whatever reason it didn't happen.

It seems everybody who has approached this project in the past has had a moment when the gem in their hands goes black. Perhaps this time it'll actually go through, but I'm skeptical.

The news is that producers Simon Kinberg and Joel Silver have lined up Colony's Ryan Condal to write the new script, which will focus more on the original novel than the '70s sci-fi classic movie.

I honestly have no idea if this thing is ever going to happen at this point and I'm not exactly sure we need a new take on Logan's Run anyway. The up side is it's always good to get a movie about questioning authority and not automatically accepting what is presented to you in front of the eyes of the youth of this world, but on the down side I think it's very possible this could turn into another shallow YA-focused sci-fi flick if not handled correctly.

What do you folks think?
