Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Those lucky LA bloggers (and a whole bunch of Angelino Trekkies) got to go to a really cool Star Trek Beyond fan event that's still unfolding.
Don't worry, they haven't forgotten about the rest of us. We didn't get to rub shoulders with the crew of the Starship Enterprise, but we do get a couple of goodies.
First the new poster:
I dig it. It's very colorful and instantly says adventure to me.
That brings us to this trailer. The first trailer was fine, but didn't really move my needle much. I mean, it's Star Trek, so of course I'm going to see it no matter what, but the only thing that got me excited about this particular outing was Simon Pegg taking lead on the script.
That last trailer didn't really remind us why we love these characters, but this trailer does. It's slower, but oddly enough makes the whole thing look bigger. Check it out:
I think that looks pretty damn good. I guess this is the week for big franchise pictures to debut a better trailer than they started off with!
