Hello ladies and gentlemen, Muldoon here with a look at comedian Mike Birbiglia's latest film, DON'T THINK TWICE. The film follows a New York improv group who are all a little plateaued career-wise, with each person wanting to acheive "that next level." When one of them catches a break and gets cast in one of the nation's biggest comedy shows (think SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE), the group is stuck trying to come to terms with only one of them "hitting it big." I was fortunate enough to catch the movie at SXSW thia past year and I'll be honest, watching a handful of thirty-five year olds question their life/career choices and having to deal with jealousy and what it means to A) achieve your dream or B) not achieve your dream, doesn't particularly sound like something I'd like. However, I did. I very much appreciated the film and found it incredibly sincere and funny (go figure with a film about comedians starring comedians). If you enjoyed Birbiglia's SLEEPWALK WITH ME, then this is a must see. If you've not seen his past work, well that's okay too as the film's trailer below should give you a little info as to what DON'T THINK TWICE has in store.
