The CW says of tonight’s “Invincible”:
After Zoom unleashes an army of Earth-2 meta-humans on Central City, Barry is shaken when he sees their leader is the Black Canary's Earth-2 doppelganger, the Black Siren. Meanwhile, Wally takes to the streets to help The Flash stop the meta-humans, which worries Joe. Iris and Henry are concerned about Barry taking on Zoom.
Longtime talkbacker Shermdawg recaps last week’s “The Runaway Dinosaur”:
Last week's Kevin Smith directed episode opened with Team Flash thinking Barry had died after he was seemingly disintegrated in Harrison Well's attempt at restoring his powers via a recreated particle accelerator blast, but soon realize (once Cisco vibes off what's left of his suit) he had actually been pulled into the speed force in the most gruesome fashion imaginable.
Meanwhile, after being caught in the blast's wave of energy with Wally, Jesse Wells was left in a comatose state, much like Barry during the first explosion years back. When Cisco and Iris visit the facility's morgue to retrieve his medical records in hopes it will aid Barry's father in treating her, they come face to face with the re-animated corpse of season one villain Tony "Girder" Woodward who apparently was brought back to life via the accelerator blast. He manages to escape and wreaks a little havoc on the city (including the destruction of Jason Mewe's mother's car), but is eventually lured back to S.T.A.R. Labs by Iris and defeated by Barry when Iris pulls him out of the speed force with the help of Cisco's powers.
While he was there, Barry learned he could communicate with the force as it took the appearance of his loved ones (including Nora Allen) and refused to let him leave with his powers until he was guided through a Dickens-like therapy session where he finally came to terms with the decision he made last season involving his mother, and realized how proud she would've been with the way he's used the gift he had been given. And with that, he regained his powers and more importantly his confidence, as he made his way back to the physical realm.
After defeating Girder, Barry looked in on Jesse and surprisingly pulled her out of her coma when he held her hand as it let loose a spark of electricity similar to what happened last season between him and Iris. Wells, with a big grin on his face in light of his daughter doing better, claims it was the speed force that brought her back. The big question now is if she'll turn meta, something Joe wondered about Wally when he tested his reflexes with a mug drop which received an understandable puzzled reaction from his son as it crashed to the floor.
As the show ends, Zolomon gives Caitlin the ultimatum of joining him or suffering the fate of her friends as he races off to rally the army of villainous meta-humans he's brought from Earth-2 to conquer her world...
