Folks, Harry here.... While this is not MOVIE new perse, I must say, that McFarlane Toys' toy production and specifically their Movie Maniac line has been one of the sheerest geek waiting for the day they hit the shelves moments I have. I'm a pretty big toy nut... in the past week I've picked up all of the Rankin Bass - Rudolph toys, the Akira and Yellow Submarine series 2 toys from McFarlane as well as a couple of other independents... But no toys I've acquired this year gave me more joy than my Ash, Plissken, Brundlefly, Spiderhead from THE THING, Shaft and the two other THINGs... There was a thought that no line of toys could ever beat these... Well, if this source claiming to be inside McFarlane holds true... They might have just damn well of done it. If only they'd do a Salma from FROM DUSK TIL DAWN.... ooooohhhhh..... Or a Johnny Depp ED WOOD and Martin Landau BELA LUGOSI.... or a Tor Johnson or a Chow Yun Fat or a... well I could go on all day... but this list is pretty friggin awesome... Check em out!!!
Wanna have an early word on which movie maniacs will make the cut for series 4 before Toy Fair 2001? Well, if you haven't already guessed, I got the word like Moses on the Mountain and I'm bringing it down. Here is the list of them that our company [McFarlane Toys] will be buying the rights to.
