SWEET JESUS POPPING FISH FROM A RIVER!!! This would rule all that is great in this world. If there is.... that perfect -non-Ash role in the universe to make Bruce Campbell the god amongst all men that he so richly deserves to be known as.... it would be to cast him as Zaphod Beeblebrox in THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. Now Bruce, I know you are now reading this. And yes, I know you have never been contacted about this part.... But right now..... in the brain of one Jay Roach, you are his dream to play Zaphod Beeblebrox.... Dear lord man, hop on this. Douglas Adams.... you've written me in the past.... MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Jay Roach? I've never talked with you or had any contact... BUT SWEET GOD, I'll erect a temple in your honor if this comes to pass. Under no circumstances pay $20 million for Carrey or Willis for this film... Put that extra budget into flushing out the world as painted by Douglas Adams... Every cent needs to be on screen, and Bruce Campbell has as much or more charisma than either of the two guys being touted for the role. Executives and Producers in charge of the project.... Bruce is beloved by the community that loves this book.... HE IS PERFECT! Every now and again there is a casting choice so blatantly obvious that it gets overlooked. BRUCE.... DO THIS... Oh sweet God this would make up for having SCOOBY DOO being ruined for all time. I could nestle with the thought of Bruce with a towel in the coldness of space... heheheh... I want to see this one bad! PLEASE HAPPEN!
Never written to your site before, but I thought this may be of some interest to you. I work at a retail store in the Beverly Center mall in Beverly Hills, naturally we get a lot of celebrities in here. Normally we aren't allowed to treat them as if they were anything other than regular customers, but I couldn't help myself today.
A gentleman came into the store today, and through the course of the conversation I found out that it was Jay Roach, director of Austin Powers and Meet The Parents. Being a huge HGTTG fan I had to ask him if what I had heard on Dark Horizons this weekend was true, if they were really going to get someone like Jim Carrey or Bruce Willis for Zaphod Beeblebrox. (I think Carrey is a stretch at best, but there's no way in hell I could accept Willis as Beeblebrox.) He said that Adams wanted someone big like that, though personally he would love to see Bruce Campbell as Zaphod, though he had not approached him yet. This is the best news I have heard in a long time, if nothing else it means that he wants to get the characters right. After hearing him say that I thought more and more that Campbell is the only person who could play Zaphod for me now. Hope this is good news for you.
