Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. As most of you know by now I'm pretty geeky. I read comic books, I play video games, I read sci-fi and horror, I watch lots and lots of genre film and TV. It's not often that I get to feel outside of a particularly geeky franchise, but that's how it is with Warcraft. I tried to play once and I just couldn't figure it out. Something about the gameplay and inventory system just refuses to make sense to me.
So with Warcraft I feel like what I assume most people feel like when they see Marvel trailers... I don't automatically know who's who, what the basis of the story is and who is necessarily good or bad, which is kind of exciting for me.
The new trailer is much like the last one in that I don't really know what the hell is going on other than the Orcs and the humans seem to have a common enemy that we might have seen or might not at this point, but there's a lot of pretty fantasy scenery and we'll see some big armored dudes beat the shit out of each other.
My anticipation for Warcraft lays mostly on Duncan Jones' participation. It's not that he's just a good filmmaker, but he's literally one of the most passionate WoW fans I've ever met. He knows this material, loves this material and when you add in that he kinda knows what he's doing behind the camera I can't help but hold out hope for this one.
What do you folks think?
