Entertainment Weekly has this new “Star Trek Beyond” production art depicting Idris Elba’s alien villain, Krall, lifting some poor fellow up with one hand. Where do they get these ideas?
Elba says his character harbors much “well-earned hatred” for The Federation, which employs Kirk, Spock and the rest of the Enterprise crew. Maybe it killed his mom or something?
Krall actually sounds a little like Capt. Mal Reynolds from “Firefly” and “Serenity.”
“There’s definitely an opposing argument to the good that the Federation think they do,” Elba tells EW of his character. “There are purists that believe in independence, and believe that we’re all made differently for a reason, and will fight tooth and nail to defend that.”
“Star Trek Beyond” hits cinemas July 22.
