Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some really exciting news. I was mixed on Jurassic World, like most of you, but totally think there's an interesting universe out there to be explored in sequels, especially when the next sequel is going to be directed by the great J.A. Bayona.
Frank Marshall announced the news via Twitter. See!
Thrilled to announce JA Bayona is on board to direct JW2. Welcome to the team @FilmBayona!

Great score, Frank! Bayona has a great cinematic eye and has proven he can play with some of the core Jurassic elements, like the scary stuff (The Orphanage) and the survival stuff (The Impossible). In fact, The Impossible is already a Jurassic Park movie if you just substitute Raptors for the flood waters. Think about it.
Seriously though, it's very exciting to me to see Bayona get to command a giant franchise picture, especially one with big scary dinosaurs in it. I just hope they kinda move away from the weird military dinos thing and give us the movie we all have wanted since 1993: Dinosaurs taking the earth back!
Thoughts?
