Benedict Cumberbatch typecast as foul anti-social creature living in mountains!!!

Hey folks, Harry here...  A long time ago, there was a Ron Howard live-action GRINCH WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS adaptation that AICN helped save from bad CGI.   You see, Rick Baker was originally set to work on the film bringing not just Jim Carrey into the role, but the citizens of Whoville too.   It would be his biggest make up spectacular, but the execs and UNIVERSAL didn't like the shortened days of acting they'd get due to all the make up work necessary...  We campaigned very hard to keep Rick Baker and his team and it actually happened.

Today at CinemaCon, Illumination Entertainment, the company behind Universal's enormous successes with the French speaking TWINKIES of DESPICABLE ME and MINIONS... well they announced Benedict Cumberbatch had been cast as the voice of Theodore Geisel's GRINCH WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS in a complete adaptation of that famed work first brought to life by Chuck Jones and Boris Karloff.   Oh - and here's the Grinch

I've high hopes for this.   Benedict is a perfect choice for the Grinch - and I know we're all awaiting the behind the scenes videos of him getting his Grinch on!  We haven't long to wait, this one is due November 10th, 2017.   That said...  there's a part of me that would love to see Cumberbatch in Rick Baker GRINCH makeup...   if only as a publicity stunt.   In fact, I feel he should coax Rick out of retirement to put him in makeup just to do the voice!   It would help make Benedict grumpier, thus... more Grinch like - thus finding the blank spot where his soul should have been.

Keep it cool,

Harry
