Daisy Ridley did not reveal to MTV who Rey’s parents are, beyond suggesting that Rey’s mother is not Felicity Jones’ “Rogue One” rebel Jyn Erso.
"I'm not being funny you guys, but just because [Jyn is] white and got brown hair... it doesn't mean she's my mom," answered Ridley.
The actress says she learned the identities of Rey’s parents while shooting “The Force Awakens,” then seemed to intimate this info is not that big a deal.
"I think the amazing thing about [“The Force Awakens”] is that Finn and Rey don't come from anywhere, and they find a place," Ridley told MTV. "So to me, it's funny that people think it's so important because I don't really think it is."
(Last week’s “Rogue One” trailer also dampened another long-brewing rumor; the Jones character is apparently not a slightly older version of Sabine Wren, a character in Disney XD’s animated series “Star Wars: Rebels.”)
