Hey folks, Harry here... Well, Warners is playing musical chairs with their films - so let's see what's going on. Let's begin with WONDER WOMAN... The powers that be decided to bring us Gal Gadot's badass Amazonian will be coming 3 weeks earlier and avoiding the next TRANSFORMERS that Paramount and Bay have... well created a new masterplan for... Personally I think it's a good deal, as now it'll be taking on CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS - and I'm pretty sure she won't have a problem kicking the good Captain's ass... as well as whatever Sony has planned with BAD BOYS 3, which will hopefully be R-rated and a different thing altogether.
Warners also announced two Untitled DC films set for October 5th, 2018 and November 1, 2019. It is probably a good bet that first one is Ben Affleck's BATMAN stand alone feature - and the other... well, Warners folks have been claiming that they're full steam ahead on the next SUPERMAN standalone film... But frankly, I think Warners... and the tone they seem to want to give us would be better served with a HARLEY QUINN action comedy buddy flick with Poison Ivy, which they'd be fools not to be developing.
Lastly, the big move is Andy Serkis' JUNGLE BOOK: ORIGINS essentially an entire year from October 2017 to Mid-October 2018. Andy Serkis seems quite enthused to have an extra year of post given what he and the performers have done with his beloved performance capture - and the arduos task that the Computer Wizards have of interpretating and manipulating that data. If you follow Serkis on FACEBOOK you can read his post about it. Or, read it here...
I've got to say that personally I'm absolutely thrilled that Warner Brothers have changed the delivery date of Jungle...

Now, the more cynical of folks would say this is about putting as much space as humanly possible between Jon Favreau's THE JUNGLE BOOK for Disney which is coming out, but the Serkis film was already a year and a half away... Which I'm sure would've been fine if the film is substantially tonally different - and I've a feeling from Serkis' statements that that would be accurate. I'm fascinated to see Serkis unleashed with performance capture!
Keep it cool,
Harry
