Salman Rushdie to Share Favorite Films in New York this Weekend!

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

If you’re going to be in or near New York this weekend, I’ve got an event you won’t want to miss.

The Modern School of Film is continuing their IN:PICTURES series with special guest Salman Rushdie. He will be screening clips and discussing three films that he feels helped to shape his work and perspective. He has chosen Satyajit Ray’s PANTHER PANCHALI, STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE and Wes Anderson’s THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL.

It’s a great event and an opportunity to hear first-hand how art can influence and affect other artists. Creators can be just as big of fans as the rest of us, and getting an account of that experience can offer a new and fascinating perspective on the work itself.

If you’re interested in attending, we’ve got a special discount code for AICN fans. Go to www.modernschooloffilm.com and enter MSF at checkout.

On April 9th at the SVA Theater in New York City, The Modern School of Film will continue its IN:PICTURES series, where guests screen clips and discuss three films that have most shaped them and their, from three distinct phases of their life: childhood, career-breakthrough, and a current/recent title.

Featured in this next session will be award-winning author, Salman Rushdie, and the films the choose to discuss are: Satyajit Ray's masterpiece "Pather Panchali", some indie-film called "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope", and Wes Anderson's most recent keepsake "The Grand Budapest Hotel".
