Hey folks, Harry here... Oscar Isaac is one of the coolest actors working in cinema today... He's worked with Zack Snyder, Nicolas Winding Refn, the Coen Brothers, Alex Garland, Bryan Singer, JJ Abrams, Rian Johnson and now Alex Garland is set to work with Oscar again!
The film is ANNIHILATION which stars Natalie Portman and is adapted by Jeff Vandermeer novel ANNIHILATION which is the first novel in Vandermeer's "Souther Reach Trilogy". The set up sounds a bit like a Michael Crichton story. Natalie Portman plays a Biologist whom's hubby went missing into a mysterious AREA X - which is not where anybody wants to go. She launches an expedition into the foreboding AREA X made up of an anthropologist, a psychologist, and a surveyor. They are all female characters - Alex Garland has further cast Jennifer Jason Leigh & Gina Rodriguez as two of them.
Her husband will be played by Oscar Isaac, I don't know about you, but after Alex Garland punted EX MACHINA around the moon and back, I'd follow him even into this terrible AREA X. I love hokey evil areas that people don't return from. This should be quite exciting!
