Patton Oswalt and Paul Rudd get in on the R-rated animated comedy action with the trailer for NERDLAND!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Seems like the raunchy cartoon is making a comeback! It's not an unheard of subgenre, but the way people are reacting to them it sounds like it's time for a resurgence. Ignoring South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut (and possibly Beavis and Butt-head Do America), there's a whole generation of movie goers who don't know about Heavy Metal or Fritz the Cat or the way more obscure (but totally awesome) Tarzoon: Shame of the Jungle (featuring a whole slew of the original SNL cast as voices, including Murray and Belushi).

I saw Sausage Party at SXSW and it was silly and goofy and wrong and dirty as shit and it looks like there's another animated movie about to drop that is going for the same vibe.

Nerdland will debut at Tribeca and features the voice talents of Patton Oswalt (not so Pixar family friendly this time) and Paul Rudd as two losers trying to make it in Hollywood.

The animation style will take a little time to grow on me. Looks like an Adult Swim show style, not something that cries out "theatrical experience" on first glance, but my comedic taste is firmly secured in the preteen snicker at dirty words and poop jokes area, so I should be good with this one.

What about you?
