Catch a Glimpse of MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN in this New Trailer!

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

Tim Burton hasn’t exactly been on the best streak lately. With his past few films, it has really felt like he has bought fully into the image of himself and hasn’t been putting the same heart into his work that made us fall in love with him back in the EDWARD SCISSORHANDS and ED WOOD days. But watching the trailer for his latest, MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN, I feel cautiously optimistic.

The film is an adaptation of Ransome Rigg’s novel, and follows a group of children with special powers who reside together in the aforementioned Home, run by the mysterious Miss Peregrine (Eva Green). Newcomer Jake (Asa Butterfield) joins the group and is charged with protecting the kids against an intruding monster (Samuel L. Jackson).

From visionary director Tim Burton, and based upon the best-selling novel, comes an unforgettable motion picture experience. When Jake discovers clues to a mystery that spans alternate realities and times, he uncovers a secret refuge known as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As he learns about the residents and their unusual abilities, Jake realizes that safety is an illusion, and danger lurks in the form of powerful, hidden enemies. Jake must figure out who is real, who can be trusted, and who he really is.

At this early stage, count me intrigued. There is a lot going on here that certainly sparks my interest - it looks like it could be really heart-touching and has a BIG FISH vibe to it - but I have learned enough over the past decade to never get too excited about Burton films until they prove their worth. Still though - it feels kind of good to be optimistic about this one.

MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN opens on September 30th. What do you guys think of the first trailer?
