Ah! This would explain why Ben Edlund isn’t writing for “Gotham” this season!
In mid-2014 Edlund – who created the comic book, animated and live action “Tick” series – said there were plans to revive the live-action “Tick” series with Patrick Warburton. But that was then.
Warburton is now starring on the NBC sitcom “Crowded,” and Amazon is hiring a new Tick for its new “Tick” pilot.
For some reason Warburton is nonetheless expected to serve as executive producer on Amazon's new "Tick."
My advice to Edlund and crew? Invest in some apple boxes and see what Thomas Haden Church is up to.
New actors have already been hired to play sidekick Arthur and his sister Dot. No word yet on who, if anyone, will step in the boots of Liz Vassey and Nestor Carbonell, who played Captain Liberty and Batmanuel.
Only nine episodes of “The Tick” ran on Fox in 2001, all of them brilliant.
