Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. It's not often I have my moments, but I'm gonna claim today's news as one of my moments.
Deadline is reporting that the reboot of Tomb Raider is gaining steam and that a certain force-wielding badass is at the top of the producer's shortlist to play Lara Croft.
I'd like to direct you to my December tweet:
Just finished the new Tomb Raider game. When they inevitably relaunch the film franchise can I nominate Daisy Ridley for neo-Croft?

I mean, it's not like I called a curveball or anything. The Lara Croft of the new Tomb Raider video games is a young badass who knows her way around hand to hand combat, can climb like a champ and who also happens to be a dark-haired beauty with an English accent.
Playing through a Tomb Raider game after the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it's almost impossible not to see Daisy Ridley in your mind cinema.
The new Lara is an awesome character who is constantly put through hell, but through smarts and sheer force of will (and some straight up murder skills) always ends up on top. I think a franchise starring Daisy Ridley could be huge.
She's not cast yet, but apparently discussions have happened and she's at the top of their list. As she should be.
