Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I've been pre-occupied with Civil War content today, but I couldn't help but put Cap and Co on hold when my Spidey sense started tingling.
Spider-Man was my gateway into comic books, so I'll always be there for any screen version of ol' Webhead. Tom Holland is a great choice for Parker and the fact that Marvel Studios is more closely involved in Spider-Man than ever before bodes very well for the new franchise.
I say all this because I want you guys to know I love me my Spider-Man when I share news that makes me feel real fuckin' old and out of the loop.
Zendaya has joined the cast, per Deadline and I have no idea who the hell that is.

She's super popular with the youngsters, apparently. She's a Disney Channel star and took part in Dancing with the Stars. Zendaya will be playing a character named Michelle, apparently, who is also someone I have no idea who it is. I've read a little about it and there are theories that this "Michelle" is Michele Gonzales, a character introduced recently who ended up rooming with Parker for a while.
That's all speculation at this point and way, way, way outside my knowledge of the Spidey books (they lost me after Mephisto erased Spider-Man's whole backstory).
Deadline says Zendaya won't be the lead, so all you nervous types can calm down about Sony changing the race of Gwen Stacy or Mary Jane. Although if that shit really bothers you, then you might not like this one as THR's Borys Kit is saying that Sony and Marvel are really wanting to fill out the cast with people of color. Sorry, racists. The next Spider-Man movie will have a multi-cultural flavor to it.
Anyway, that's the news. Back to getting you guys some more on-set interviews with some other Marvel heroes!
