Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Got some Star Wars goodies for you today. First, let's start with Daisey Ridley's comments on Episode VIII, which has been filming for a couple weeks (with that little "pre-shoot" at Skellig last October). By this time into Episode VII's shoot JJ had released some teaser images (who can forget the script read photo or the slate covered in golden Abu Dhabi sand?), so it looks like Rian Johnson and his team are flying a little under the radar right now. WE NEED TIDBITS, GUYS!
Thankfully Daisy Ridley had our back when MTV caught her on the Oscars Red Carpet.
She confirms that the pre-shoot on Skellig island was the opening of VIII and that it was 'crazy doing the same scene with a different group of people.' Which means we're getting a Star Wars movie without a giant jump of time since the previous one... at least right away. What could that mean for the opening crawl? SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!
She also complimented the story, seeming to get super excited about how good the story for this one was and promised that "Luke is so cool in this one." Music to my ears! Badass conflicted Jedi Master Luke?
Make sure to visit MTV to actually watch and listen to the lovely Daisy Ridley say all that stuff I just typed above.
The next bit of Star Wars business... Looks like Wal-Mart done slipped up and revealed the Blu-Ray Cover and Special feature details for The Force Awakens. It was quickly pulled, but this is what we know so far (thanks to Den of Geek for nabbing it):

Special features:
Secrets of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey
The Story Awakens: The Table Read
Building BB-8
Crafting Creatures
Blueprint of a Battle: The Snow Fight
The Visual Magic Of The Force
John Williams: The Seventh Symphony
Deleted Scenes Force For Change
The pre-order is still available on Amazon with the estimated release date being early next month, although nothing is official yet. I imagine we'll get the final product press release soon if they really are aiming for an April Blu-Ray date. I'm dying to dig into the special features, which do feel a little on the light side (yuk-yuk-yuk), but that just means we'll probably get a massive Trilogy Box Set in 2020, right?
Thoughts?
