Having nightmares that Peter Jackson has gone crazy trying to shoot all 3 films together' He speaks!

Just added this video clip from the press conference!!! Thanks goes out to TheOneRing.Net for the heads up!

Hey folks, Harry here.... Ya know.... It has been over a year of shooting on LORD OF THE RINGS.... Peter has been working on these films for 3 years, and he still has another 3 years till he's completely done with the entire thing. And then comes the pressure for THE HOBBIT... hehehe.... Through it all, we've had to maintain that Peter Jackson had not hit his head on a rock and tried to restuff his brain matter back into his skull and lost whole filming sequences. I mean... Shhheeeeshus... He's making... Basically an 8 hour film out of Tolkein's works and he's shooting it all out of sequence and it has been going on for so long now that you have to wonder....

HAS PETER JACKSON GONE DAFFY?

The real question would be... was he ever... NOT daffy? Hehehe... The New Zealand Herald conducted a Q&A with Peter the other day and while asking him questions, I realized that not only does he sound sane.... But a year into this, he actually sounds... Comfortable.

And this just made me smile. When Lucas started shooting on Episode 2, the first quote we heard from him was that he wasn't sure if he was shooting extra stuff for Episode 1, the old special editions, Dvd footage or Episode 2.... And while I knew he was probably joking... it gave me pause.

To hear a filmmaker like Jackson discuss how it really doesn't matter how Computer Effects progress over the course of making these films... because it isn't about the program as much as it is about the DESIGN of the creature. EXACTLY!!! See, that is the guy directing Lord of the Rings.... I love it. He gets the concept that it isn't about the computer, but whether or not the creature that you are animating is a CLASSIC DESIGN.

The problem with so much effects work today is that the design of the creature isn't really something that leaves an impression. Most of the creatures we see nowadays are constructed to just.... MOVE A WHOLE BUNCH....

I also love where Peter is talking about the quiet moments on set where he's gathering his thoughts while the next shot is being set up... and for that moment he is at HELM'S DEEP.... or he is at BAG'S END. Oh joy. Anyways... here's the Link

Thanks goes to:Ringbearer.Org for dropping us a line on this....
