Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Disney has released a new TV spot for their Alice In Wonderland sequel, Alice Through The Looking Glass. It's funny, I don't think I've ever met a single person who loves Burton's first film, but it made so. Much. Money. If you've ever wondered why Disney's hellbent on doing live action versions of all their animated properties it's because of the billion dollar box office Alice earned.
I myself didn't hate the movie, but I've never bought into the Johnny Depp backlash. That's not saying he hasn't turned in bad performances of late, but I refuse to refute his long history of good work because he's burned out and a little lost in his most recent slate of projects (Black Mass notwithstanding).
But even my "didn't hate it" stance doesn't predispose me to get giddy for the sequel. It could be fun, it could be bad. I have no idea, but I will say this latest TV spot is really, really well-cut. It also has the most assuredly purposeful use of Alan Rickman's voice (he played the Caterpiller if you remember) to hit us right in our heart places.
Disney released it via their Twitter. Check it out by clicking on the Mad Hatter below!
