Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. It's always a good day when you get a glimpse at the new Laika property, so today's a good day.
Their new flick comes out later this year and it's called Kubo and the Two Strings, a Samurai-inspired bit of weirdness involving magic and music. Let's take a look at the character posters first and then we'll take a gander at the trailer.
Here are the posters:

Love the attention to detail you get in every Laika-produced character. As pretty as those character posters are they don't hold a candle to the trailer. No words, just watch. We'll talk about it after.
Can I say I adore how they used George Harrison/The Beatles' While My Guitar Gently Weeps? Simply beautiful. Those Laika guys are crazy smart about using pop music in their trailers to really set the tone. I know I still think of ParaNorman when I hear Donovan's Season of the Witch.
Anyway, I can't wait to see this flick. I love love love Laika's style. What about you folks?
