Sandler comments on upcoming Paul Thomas Anderson/Sandler project!

Hey folks, Harry here... Now I've been a bit unnerved by all of this Paul Thomas Anderson directing an Adam Sandler comedy. You see... I am not a Sandler fan. In my eyes, the idea of taking Paul Thomas Anderson... who I feel is one of the top ten filmmakers I watch every move of.... and having him make an Adam Sandler comedy would be like forcing Martin Scorsese to do a Bad News Bears movie... as appealling as that may sound though... look for it in a couple of years... hehehe.... Anyway, the quote below from Sandler gives me hope though.... PTA told me in an email once that this wasn't an Adam Sandler Film..... it is a Paul Thomas Anderson film. He also said that it wasn't an overt comedy... any more so than BOOGIE NIGHTS or MAGNOLIA.... I mean, certainly... there were some funny funny scenes in those movies... but then came the brutal flipside... that side two of life where it kicks you in the jaw and pisses on your crumpled unconcious form... For many comedians.... particularly young comedians... there are break out roles... moments where an artist... a director takes a look at their talents... observes their quiet moments.... and says, "Yeah, I know how to use that." In my perception, that is what is going to happen here. PTA sees something in Sandler... he sees something that he can use and give us that we have not seen yet... perhaps glimpses of it in THE WEDDING SINGER between the schtick.... and that's the challenge of the film for him.... To change our perceptions of Adam Sandler. Personally, I welcome that. Here's the scoop from our man in Michigan......

What up Harry... I don't know if you've heard this already, but in the University of Michigan's Daily newspaper, there's an interview with Adam Sandler about his latest, Little Nicky, and Sandler says something about being approached by PT Anderson for a role in an upcoming film.

"This kid Paul Thomas Anderson. He's writing a movie right now that he wants me to do... It's a different thing for me. It's not a comedy like we would do. It's a PTA movie. There's comedy in it and there's insanity in it and it's very interesting, a very cool thing."

The article was by Christopher Cousino and Ben Goldstein and might still be up at MichiganDaily.Com.

Keep the good stuff coming.
