Hey folks, Harry here and ya know.... An Ang Lee musical may very well work.... Somebody is going to bring that genre to life again... and given Ang Lee's ease at shifting to a grandly choreographed medium like the KUNG FU film... I feel his quest for a musical to be quite refreshing.... NOW... after that, get back to the Kung Fu!!! Here's Parit....
Hey, Cool site, can‚t believe is taken me a such a long time to find out about it. Right, well here‚s a bit of an update for you, may be a little late but edit at your will. Went to see the British premier of Crouching tiger, hidden dragon last night. Good movie by the way, would be a shame if it did not get a large release. That aside, he mentioned more about his next film in a Q and A session after the end of the movie. It seems that rumours regarding his next project being a musical are well founded. He likened the martial arts genre, especially his movie to Chinese opera, stating that choreographed fights owe more to dance than authentic martial idioms. In his own words, a musical would be the next logical step in terms of his movie making. As for the prequels to crouching tiger, well it seems that this movie was based on a graphic\cartoon popular in China in the 40‚s. The episode‚ that we were treated with was the 5th part in the series. Considering that he said he very much enjoyed making it, prequels, or more hopefully sequels could be a possibility.
