Disney wants to make a film about Cruella de Vil, and they want Emma Stone to star.
This project shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s followed Disney’s recent spate of live-action remakes, and Cruella is as iconic a villain as they’ve got in their arsenal (remember, Glenn Close did the live-action incarnation thing wayyy before Jolie’s MALEFICENT).
Though Stone is usually gosh dern likable, it isn’t a stretch to see her go bitchy as the dog-hunting titular character. Plus, it’d allow her to go places we haven’t seen her go yet, and not in terms of *ahem* ethnicity (seriously, Crowe.).
They’ve been getting strong directors for these things, so let’s see who they nab for this one (*must love dogs)!
