Hey folks, Harry here... recently when I was in L.A. out shooting the breeze with Mysterio and Junior Mintz while watching fake boobs bucking off of a mechanical bull, I bumped into a fella that told me that our friendly (genre friendly that is) ass kicking character actor... Ray Parks... was in negotiations with a Marvel Property.... I assumed (ass out of you and me) that he was referring to the alleged talks that Ray Park was in regarding BLADE 2 with director Guillermo Del Toro. Now it seems that Ray Park is also up for IRON FIST.... Now... ya know, i don't know who is attached to direct this one... But in my dream of dreams... I wish upon a star that the director was.... Woo-Ping Yuen. I mean between FIST OF LEGEND and THE IRON MONKEY.... he has made the two of the absolute best Kung Fu SuperHero Movies Of All Time... and he would be your first choice for fight choreography anyway... He would be BAD ASS!!!! with extra exclamation marks!!!! Oh... and by the way, what the hell is up with the Jerry Bruckheimer BUCK ROGERS?
I just got word that Artisan, as part of their deal with Marvel comics, has hired a writer named John Turman to write the feature version of IRON FIST. Artisan is currently in discussion now with Ray Park to play the martial arts hero.
Turman apparently wrote some of the earliest drafts of THE INCREDIBLE HULK and SILVER SURFER and was brought in to do a rewrite of BUCK ROGERS for Jerry Bruckheimer. He seems like a great choice for this highly anticipated action film!!!! With Ray as the star, this can only be a total kick ass film!!! What do you think???
