Hello ladies and gentlemen, your pal Muldoon here with the first SATURDAY SHORTS of 2016. I hope you had a great holiday, whatever it may be, partied like crazy on New Year's Eve, and are ready to check out a few interesting shorts from all over the globe. Each film below was created and submitted by the filmmakers themselves as is usual here on SATURDAY SHORTS. Comedies, horror, and more fill the running time of our small weekly indie film fest here, so whatever your tastes might be, you are sure to find something original that you would not have seen otherwise. So let's jump right on into this cinematic jacuzzi of awesomeness!
Go grab yourself some popcorn, lock your kids in a closet, kill the lights, relax and check out this little weekly film fest we've got ourselves here:
HANK & HONEY: A HOLIDAY HORROR
TRT: 5:48
Kicking the gates open with the first short of 2016 here is a cute Christmas tale... of terror! Director Rob Neilson casts a dark shadow over the cheerful holiday with this dark comedy. It's slick and has a nice design to it where the home feels right out of a sweet nostalgic spot we all might share, not too art directed, but provides enough colors and layers to make it special. Check out Rob's website for more of his fun films!

BLACK CHRISTMAS
TRT: 19:18
Straight from Finland we have a film from Juuso Räsänen that brings warm thoughts of John Hughes to mind. It's charming and pulls you into the shoes of a man out of his element, but determined to make the best of it. It's got humor and leaves you feeling satisfied. Check out more from Juuso on his Vimeo page where he has a few other films available.

GRAMMY
TRT: 1:36
Jill Gevargizian is back with another reminder to always be on your gaurd when dealing with the elderly. You might remember Gevargizian from her CALL GIRL short which featured THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE's Laurence R. Harvey a few weeks back. "When a little girl wakes up from an overnight at her grandma's house, she discovers there may be more to Grammy than meets the eye." For more horror fun from Gevargizian, be sure to head over to her website and see what else she's up to!

PICK UPS
TRT: 4:42
Luther Bhogal-Jones has our next short, a black and white dramatic comedy. "The film follows Joseph Francis Little as he gives up his old life to pursue the girl of his dreams...but it's possible he's misunderstood something..." It's perfectly awkward and put a smile on my face, so hopefully it will do the same for you. Check out Luther's Faster Production's Vimeo Page to see more of his wild work.

BOOM! Okay folks, so that's it for this week. I hope to see you ladies and gents next week. Hopefully 2016 will bring more short films my way, more quality flicks to share with you all each week. Remember, if you've got an idea for a cool short - just go out and make it! Have a great week and be safe out there.

If you have a short and think it belongs here or are on the fence about whether to send it in, please do send it in - I'd love to see what you've put together. I've already seen hundreds of fresh new filmmakers' shorts and like any good addict, I need more!
Shoot me an email at "Mike@aintitcool.com"
In the subject line include:
“SHORTS” + “Your film’s name” + “The film’s genre”
Then, in the body of the email, please include a synopsis of the film and any contact information you might think I need or would want published. The more info you send my way, the more info there is to put with your short.
Please don’t feel the need to submit multiple times.
Remember, the filmmakers might still be in the audience, so feel free to share your thoughts in Talkbacks below. (JUST DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE). I picked them, so you know I think highly of all of these, but how about you fine folks? How'd you like 'em?
BY THE WAY: If you've had a short featured here, that means that I personally am a fan of your work, so feel free to shoot me any kind of news on new projects/films/whatever. I can't say I'll be able to help or in what capacity, but I'm interested in your work and am always down to see more! (Keep making cool stuff, everyone!)
