The season-5 “Game of Thrones” Blu-ray, slamming into shelves March 15, will include a 20-minute prequel exploring the deadly conflict that pitted Targaryen against Targaryen long before the Khalessi’s stormy birth.
One combatant in the clip is Prince Aemond “One Eye” Targaryen, brother of King Aegon II Targaryen (great great great great great great grandfather to Dany).
The other combatant is King Aegon II’s dashing and reckless uncle, Daemon, who fathered two kings of Westeros despite having never ascended to the Iron Throne himself.
The battle depicted in the clip occurred 154 years before Dany was born.
Season six hits HBO in April.
