Nordling here.
The new trailer for STAR TREK BEYOND gives me hope! Why, you ask, because as everyone knows, I thought INTO DARKNESS was a pristine nugget of cat turd right in the cinematic litter box of bad movies. Because it has them exploring again. There's no vast consipracy (at least, none that's apparent, I could be proven wrong later), a lot of the fun of the movies seems to be here, and, yeah, we get a Beastie Boys song, which has been established in canon as Kirk's favorite band. I mean, that's been that way since the original show. You know that, right?
It also looks like the Enterprise gets destroyed, which I guess counts as a spoiler, although that might not be accurate. This is definitely more information we've gotten on the new movie then when J.J. Abrams was involved. Hopefully we'll get more exploration, as Simon Pegg has stated we would, and our beloved characters are used well - the scene with McCoy and Spock being a perfect example of that. Here's the trailer:
STAR TREK BEYOND opens next summer.
Nordling, out.
