The first two BROTHERS GRIMSBY teasers didn’t really give us much of a glimpse into what kind of film it actually was, overly highlighting the first-person action scene with Mark Strong but not featuring very much in the way of plot or comedy.
This nearly 3-minute trailer solves that, explaining not only the brothers’ backstory, but how their relationship incites the plot and serves as the centerpiece of the whole story. Sure enough, I’ve heard that their interplay is the best thing about the film, and this trailer seems to confirm that;
They also reveal that Penelope Cruz is playing the villain. Between this and ZOOLANDER NO. 2, I wonder why she’s taking to comedy like this. I never thought she was a particularly comedic actress, even though she’d score laughs in stuff like her Woody Allen movies. But where's third-billed Isla Fisher, a.k.a. Mrs. Cohen?
I really want to watch more of Cohen and Rebel Wilson as this dirty-ass couple. That gun stuff at the end could be hilarious with the full gore. I actually can’t wait to see more of this movie. Strong trailer (pun wholly intended).
