He folks, Harry here... and it seems ol Steven likes to viddy us acting like monkeys. Makes me malenky bit happy to see the ol droog in such yarble licking good spirits. Though we will try a bit of the ultraviolence to get the slip on this baby. Read on my droogs...

I attended the "Sapient Presents The Tenth Annual BAFTA LA Britannia Award" event this weekend in Century City. You can read more information at Baftala.Org. The Stanley Kubrick award was given to Steven Spielberg, who's an up-and-coming director here in these parts.

Steven brought in a group of his A.I. cohorts, and even Haley stayed up late for this party. Also in attendance were J. Elfman, J. Bisset, A. Cumming, R. Crowe, B. Kingsley, R. Zemekis, J. Katzenberg, S. Robards (also in A.I.), and many others. The Prince Andrew, The Duke of York gave a little speech about the incredible amount of dealmaking going on at the dinner, and he said in jest that he could be producing about 10 movies with the group of people he met during this dinner alone.

From Spielberg's mouth:

- After Michael Crawford performed some Phantom songs, Spielberg recalled having the 'business savvy' to reject Lloyd Webber's offer for Spielberg to back 50 to 100% of Phantom during its first run in London. He specifically recalls saying "I don't do theater."

- Initial filming for A.I. will be done in 2 weeks

- One thing he loved about Stanley Kubrick was the secrecy surrounding his films, and as such, he has continued this secrecy on A.I.

- He has fake call sheets, fake treatments, etc. He has released them, and has seen that they are now taken for 'truth' on the 'Net. He recalls reading a story about how A.I. was about aliens who land on earth to drill a hole to the center of our planet to get some Rossetta Stone type object.

"Thank you, Caller from L.A."
