Hey folks, Scurlock here.
Shane Black returns to the director's chair for his first big screen foray since 2013's IRON MAN 3, this time with the duo of Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe in 70s crime-thriller-myster-comedy-drama (ha), THE NICE GUYS. Below is our first official look at Gosling and Crowe in their highly-flammable duds:

Ahhh, the seventies, when everything was itchy and your apparel could kill you.
THE NICE GUYS features Gosling as a rookie cop, and Crowe as a grizzled private detective, both forced to partner up and solve the mystery of a missing girl, and death of a washed-up porn star. Black says of the mixed-genre film in the People.com exclusive:
"Whether this thing is a comedy with action or a thriller with jokes, one thing that's very clear is these two are extremely funny. People will enjoy seeing the two of them."
Here's Crowe and Gosling doing jokey things on a set break for the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards earlier this year:
As well as directing, Shane Black partnered with screenwriter Anthony Bagarozzi on writing duties, who is also working with Black on bringing the pulp-era hero DOC SAVAGE back to theaters after a forty year absence. THE NICE GUYS also stars Matt Bomer (MAGIC MIKE XXL) and Kim Basinger, who also shared the screen with Crowe in L.A. CONFIDENTIAL.
THE NICE GUYS is due in theaters May 20, 2016.
